Testing Blogger.com

I have done some blogging in the past. I started with a simple PHP blog application which I considerably modified. It worked, it had the features I required (mainly because I added them along the way) and it was totally under my control - I had it on my own personal server. And I mean personal as in "this humming box under the table is my server and I can do whatever I want with it!". That was back in 2008.
Old blog address (in czech): oldblog.dejvino.cz

As you know, the times they are a-changin' and this little toy got old. Not that it was slow or broken, it just wasn't as up-to-date in technologies and possibilities as I would like it to be.
The next stage came with my desire to try something new. I started building a JavaEE application to be deployed on a cloud, namely OpenShift by RedHat. A blog seemed to be a great thing to create.
Sadly I don't have the resources to finish it in time for it to be useful. First, the development gave me a lot of new experience and information, but I could not share this knowledge, because my blog wasn't finished! Second, by the time it could be finished, it would be obsolete and I could start over.

After finally giving in, I have registered a blog here on Blogger.com. My aim is to take advantage of all the ready-made features and of the worry-free blogging this service is offering. Let's see how it turns out...
